Original Dutch film title:
SPOREN IN HET LAND
4 X 20 minutes
History and future of the remnants of the old forts of the defence line Stelling West Noord-Brabant.
Almost no one knows that a defence line was situated in Brabant, where ten thousands of soldiers fought in the 18th Century. Due to the construction of a new highway (A4), the landscape and history has received much attention.
Everyone knows the Hollandic Water Line, but only few people know that Brabant also has its own defence line: the line from Bergen op Zoom to Steenbergen, also known as Stelling West Noord-Brabant. The line has an impressive history. Only, not much of it is visible any more. Due to the construction of a new highway (A4), this extraordinary landscape rapidly develops.
Director Frans Hoeben and his prodcuer SNG Film/ Digna Sinke follow the history and planned developments in a 4-part series to be broadcast by Omroep Brabant.
