A fictional and poetic interpretation on the notion of coexistence between humans and animals in a moment in which humanity is in danger to be revenged by nature itself.

Synopsis:

Landscape Depressions is a fiction film based on a poetic combination of a visual and aural narration. The story is set around an artificial lake in the north of Greece, formed during the contraction of a dam in past years. In the seemingly natural environment that the local community lives, between the mountains and the lake a hitherto unexplained phenomenon has occurred. Humanity appears to have fallen deep asleep. Man’s bodies are lying on the ground, in a kind of deathly sleep, while farm and domestic animals in captivity are slowly returning back to their freedom, released by humanity’s control. Nature is alert and in motion in contrast to the inactive human body, in a natural landscape that once humans and animals used to inhabit under different conditions.
