DREAM & DEED in Dutch film theaters

DREAM & DEED, a feature documentary by Annette Apon, can still be viewed in Dutch film theatres. The world premiere of the film was held at the EYE Film Institute in Amsterdam on November 24.

AN ANGEL IN DOEL wins the Grand Prix at Ânûû-rû âboro

Director Tom Fassaert received the Grand Prix for his film AN ANGEL IN DOEL during the Ânûû-rû âboro documentary festival in the idealic setting of New Caledonia.

AN ANGEL IN DOEL previously won the 'Universities award for best International Competition mid or feature-length film' at the established international documentary festival doclisboa (20-30 October 2011). The film has also been nominated for two Golden Calfs, namely for Best Documentary and Best Editing, at the Netherlands Film Festival in Utrecht. The film is the first feature length documentary by Tom Fassaert, who in 2006 graduated from the Netherlands Film and Television Academy with the film DOEL LIVES, has also received a special mention by the Ecumenical Jury in the FORUM programme of the Berlinale.

WAVUMBA geselecteerd voor Thessaloniki en München

WAVUMBA has been selected for the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival (15-24 March) en DOK.fest München (8-15 May). Jeroen van Velzen has previously won the prize for Best New Documentary Director with his first feature documentary WAVUMBA - they who smell of fish at the prestigious New York film festival Tribeca. The film has also been screened a.o. in competition at the internationally acclaimed festival Visions du Réel in Nyon and in the Bright Future programme at the International Film Festival Rotterdam.

TIENGEMETEN, THE WEBSITE

The association Natuurmonumenten has taken the website www.tiengemeten.com under its wing. The first design of the website came about during the workshop organised in 1999/2000 by the Dutch Cultural Broadcasting Fund in cooperation with the Sandberg Institute. The Fund has made it possible for this design to be completed. Fred Inklaar is responsible for the design, Gridline for the programming and Digna Sinke has been invited by the association Natuurmonumenten to give a yearly account on the developments on the island.

The site aims to show how the island of Tiengemeten once came about and about the plans for the future.
